Josh Brock kicked off his 2018 Champion Racing Association (CRA) season with a top-five finish at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. In a battle of the North and South, the Kentucky driver was also the second CRA driver to take the checkered flag.

“It was a great weekend to get the season started,” said Brock. “The car was great right off the trailer and between Chris Wimmer and our crew we just kept making it better.”

Brock put down the third fastest time in qualifying and, with the invert, started the 100-lap event from the pole position. He jumped out to the early lead and held it for the majority of the first 60 laps. The caution flew with 35 laps to go and this time Brock got shuffled back to the fifth position. He maintained that spot to earn a fifth place finish in Music City.

“I got a change to lead some laps and ran up front all night,” said Brock. “That’s what I needed as a driver for more confidence and now I think everybody that was there realizes that we are back. After the long run the car was great and was almost on cruise control but after that caution it’s like we lost forward bite and just couldn’t get up off the corners like we had been. I’m excited to have a top-five finish but at the same time we really wanted that win.”
