Josh Brock eyes his first trip to The Rattler this weekend.  The Corbin, KY driver has never raced at South Alabama Speedway, but the prestigious Super Late Model race has always been on his bucket list.

“I’m extremely excited for the Rattler,” said Brock.  “I’ve always wanted to go down there, and race and I have a great change with team cars and crew chief.  A lot of big names have won, and it would be pretty cool to have a picture with a snake around my neck.”

Brock continues to work with Wimmer Motorsports for the 2019 season and the first few days at the South Alabama track have been successful.  Brock qualified 7th for Sunday’s 250-lap race and was solid throughout practice each day.

“South Alabama Speedway is fun to drive,” said Brock.  We worked hard on a bunch of packages and we have one with good drivability and speed.  Starting seventh isn’t bad, the top-ten were very close in times.”

And a solid start to the weekend has the driver of the No. 17 feeling confident heading into the 43rd annual Rattler250 on Sunday.

“I feel great,” said Brock.  “I do well in long races.  Our drivability on old tires is good and 250 laps is a long race, so we just have to be smart and have a great handling car.”

Fans can watch all 250-lap of the Rattler250 live on Sunday afternoon on Speed51.com.  The green flag is set to drop at 2:00pm Central Time.
